About Winchester, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Winchester, KY is a growing city in Clark County, and it also serves as the county seat. As of 2017, about 18,600 people resided in this community, which is a mere 18 miles east of Lexington.  Kentucky Route 1958 forms an outer loop around Winchester, while Route 627 leads toward the neighboring cities of Paris and Richmond. Winchester is primarily a residential city, and while many residents commute into Lexington for work, employment opportunities can be found right here at Amazon.com, Catalent Pharma, East Kentucky Power Cooperative, and General Dynamics Information Technolgy, among others.

Winchester is known as a bedroom community, but there are many things to see and do here. Various outdoor destinations call Winchester home, including Daniel Boone National Forest, the Red River Gorge Geological Area, and Lower Howard’s Creek Nature and Heritage Preserve. Musicians may enjoy a trip to the Bluegrass Heritage Museum, while history buffs may like to visit the Civil War Fort at Boonesboro. Historic Downtown Winchester is also home to several interesting specialty shops and restaurants, including In and Out BBQ, Broadway Café, and the Cairn Coffee House.

Weather conditions in Winchester range from cold winter snow to hot summer sun. From December through March, conditions are cold, and the area receives about 13 inches of snow each season. Freezing weather is a greater concern, especially when temperatures drop overnight. To stay warm at home and prevent the freezing of pipes, residents should prepare their homes with a reliable gas or electric furnace.

Summer weather in Winchester is hot and humid. Skies are sunny, and daily highs in July and August reach the mid-80s. However, there are many days each season when thermostat readings reach into the 90s. Central air conditioning is the preferred home cooling method in the region, offering safe, efficient, and uniform cooling throughout a space.
